A series of stories on the team captains in the Ontario Junior Hockey League during the 2017-18 season:

By Ron Valentine

It has not been an easy season so far for the Lindsay Muskies and their captain, CAMERON ROBINSON (Photo by Shawn Muir / OJHL Images), who had 17 goals and 34 points for the club last season.

But the right winger, in his third full season on the club, is keeping it upbeat and looks for the positives in everything. He played minor hockey with the Central Ontario Wolves. Cameron, born in Lindsay, is ably assisted by assistant captains blueliner Owen Barnett and forward Braydon Leeking, who is currently in second spot in Muskies' points.

Two big wins, buoyed up hope for the club, he says, but they still need to develop consistency on the young team and they have been struggling again of late. They got off to a rocky start this season injury-wise but now everyone is healthy, he notes.

He describes himself as a player who likes to play tough and hit hard to make space for his linemates and he is equally at home in his own or the offensive zone.

He knows it's important to lead by example but, like his assistants, he is learning when to speak up in the dressing room.

Cameron has one more year of junior hockey remaining and is looking to play for a Canadian university or perhaps in Europe.
