KIRK COMMITS TO BENTLEY FALCONS

Newmarket Hurricanes goaltender Fraser Kirk (photo credit - Ed McPherson/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Bentley University Falcons in Waltham, MASS beginning with the 2018-19 season.

The native of Burlington joined the Hurricanes during the 2016-17 season from the Thorold Blackhawks Jr. B organization.

Kirk, 20, also tended goal for his hometown Burlington Cougars and the Grimsby Peach Kings during his junior career. He played his minor midget season with the Burlington Eagles AAA team.

The OJHL KEWL goaltender of the month in October, Kirk has 22 wins and a goals against average of 1.86 – both second best in the league. He has a save percentage of .923.

Two of his three shutouts this season came in consecutive games, over Wellington and Whitby, in January.
