Andrew Petrucci won the 2017-18 scoring title in the Ontario Junior Hockey League – by the slimmest of margins.

The Toronto Patriots captain scored two goals in a 3-2 win over Buffalo on Saturday, the final night of the OJHL regular season. That gave him an even 100 points on the season – one more than Aurora Tigers captain Jake Bricknell, who had a goal and an assist in an overtime loss to Lindsay Saturday night.

Petrucci, who will play for NCAA Division 1 RIT next season, finished with 52 goals, 17 more than Bricknell, who was also runner-up in goal scoring.

Patriots teammates Dante Spagnuolo and Oliver Banwell tied for the assists title, with 66 apiece. Bricknell was next, with 64.

Colby Muise of the North York Rangers led all goaltenders in save percentage (.934) and goals-against average (1.81). Tyler Fassl of the Patriots had the most wins (31) in the 22-team league.

Aurora had three of the top five penalized players, topped by a league-leading 142 minutes from Jacob Kostopoulos.

The Patriots won the inaugural Brant Snow Memorial Trophy as regular season champions of the OJHL. Divisional champions were the Patriots (South), Georgetown Raiders (West), Aurora (North) and Wellington Dukes (East).

Regular-season awards will be presented in a ceremony during the OJHL championship series, which is scheduled for April 11-24.
