TRENTON'S LEWIS COMMITS TO LAURIER
Once a Golden Hawk, always a Golden Hawk.
Captain Mac Lewis of the Trenton Golden Hawks (photo credit – John Lewis / OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks of the OUA beginning with the 2018-19 season.
“The Trenton Golden Hawks and the city of Quinte West congratulate Mac on his commitment and acceptance to Laurier to join former Golden Hawks Danny Hanlon, Anthony Sorrentino and Jeremy Pullara,” the Trenton OJHL franchise said in a statement. “For three years we have had the pleasure of watching the growth of a very good hockey player and, more importantly, a great young man.”
The 20-year-old from Uxbridge arrived in Trenton in 2015 following two seasons at St. Andrew’s College in Aurora. The forward previously played in the OMHA with the Markham Waxers AAA program.
In Trenton, Lewis tallied 85 points (38G/47A) in 151 games.
“He’s a big power forward who makes the opposition pay the price,” former Trenton coach Jerome Dupont said while coaching Lewis. “He plays with a lot of grit, has a great work ethic, a two-way player.”
Congratulations to Mac and best of luck in U SPORTS hockey.
