WELLINGTON'S MCGEEN COMMITS TO D1 ST. LAWRENCE
Ted McGeen of the OJHL-champion Wellington Dukes (photo credit – Ian Dixon/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join NCAA Division 1 St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y., beginning with the 2018-19 season.
“Humbled and excited to announce my commitment to play Division 1 hockey with St Lawrence University,” McGeen (@tedmcgeen) wrote in a tweet Wednesday. “Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way.”
McGeen and the Dukes open play at the RBC Cup national Jr. A championships in Chilliwack, B.C. today.
McGeen played minor hockey for his hometown Windsor Jr. Spitfires. He joined the Dukes this year after playing for junior teams in Blenheim and Chatham, ON and Powell River, B.C.
He had 56 (35G/21A) points in 46 games this season in Wellington. He’s added 18 points in 35 playoff games.
