WHITBY'S STEVENS COMMITTED TO UMASS
Christian Stevens of the Whitby Fury (photo credit – Shawn Muir / OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the NCAA Division 1 University of Massachusetts Minutemen beginning with the 2021-22 season.
The native of neighbouring Brooklin joined the Fury from the Whitby Wildcats AAA program. The captain of the Wildcats minor midgets last season, Stevens had 14 goals and 20 assists in 36 games.
The 16-year-old centre, who committed to UMass in January, was a sixth-round pick of the Windsor Spitfires in this year’s Ontario Hockey League draft.
