JOSH NIXON COMMITS TO NCAA DI ALASKA FAIRBANKS
Josh Nixon of the Mississauga Chargers (photo credit – Tim Bates/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join NCAA Division I the University of Alaska Fairbanks Nanooks beginning with the 2020-21 season.
The native of Mississauga joined the Chargers from the OJHL champion Oakville Blades June 6.
The 19-year-old began his OJHL career with the league finalist Georgetown Raiders in 2017-18. He had 17 points in 51 games.
He was traded to Oakville midway through last season, tallying 50 points (23 goals/27 assists) in 50 games.
The Ontario Junior Hockey League, the largest Jr. A league in Canada, has had more than 115 NCAA, U Sports, OHL and professional commitments in 2018-19.
