For the second straight series the Kingston Voyageurs are in the driver’s seat, taking a 3-1 series lead over the Cobourg Cougars, after a 5-2 win Tuesday night in Cobourg.

After Kris Grant for the Vees and Justin Danforth for the Cougars traded first period goals, the Vees stormed out of the gate in the second period with a goal from David Quesnele, shorthanded and just 58 seconds into the period, en route to a three goal period to pace the Vees to the win.

Charlie Finn was once again his usual rock solid self, making 42 saves in the victory.

Mike Casale had a pair of second period tallies to open up a 4-1 Kingston lead. Colbie Andrews cut the Vees lead in half in the third, but Graham Yeo scored his 4th goal in the two games played in Cobourg to salt away the Kingston victory.

Along with Finn turning in yet another banner performance, Evan Cormier was just as solid at the other end, stopping 36 of the 41 Vees shots that he faced

Cobourg will look to extend the series in game five on Thursday, March 21 at the Invista Centre in Kingston, while the home side looks to wrap things up and set-up a North-East Conference Final showdown with the Newmarket Hurricanese.
