EDDY COMMITS TO LAURENTIAN
Whitby Fury defenceman Matt Eddy (photo credit - Tim Bates/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Laurentian University Voyageurs beginning with the 2013-14 OUA season.
The now 21-year old native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario played the past two seasons in the OJHL after previously spending part of the 2009-10 season and the entire 2010-11 season with his hometown Sault Ste. Marie Thunderbirds of the NOJHL, including an appearance at the 2010 Dudley-Hewitt Cup. Eddy joined the OJHL last season as a member of the Kingston Voyageurs blueline, finishing fourth among rearguards in scoring with 12 points in 39 regular season games played. He then led all Vees defenders in scoring with five points during the club's remarkable playoff run to the Division Final. Joining the Whitby Fury during the off-season, Eddy provided a veteran presence on the point, providing similar offensive statistics with 13 points in 52 regular season games to finish second in scoring behind OJHL Top Defenceman runner-up Chris Raguseo.
Congratulations to Matt on the commitment and best of luck with his academic and athletic career!
