PERRUCCIO COMMITS TO NEUMANN
Georgetown Raiders alternate captain Nick Perruccio (photo credit - Jay Johnston/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Neumann University Knights beginning with the 2013-14 ECAC West Conference season.
The native of Richmond Hill, Ontario joined the OJHL as a 17-year old member of the Upper Canada Patriots in 2009-10. The offensively gifted forward tasted instant success, leading the team with 17 goals, while finishing second in scoring with 42 points in 48 regular season games played. Year two saw the hard-nosed Perruccio not only lead the Pats in scoring with 25 goals and 65 points in 50 games played, but also lead the team with 100 penalty minutes. He would add another five points in seven games during his first taste of post-season junior action that season. Perruccio continued as one of the club's top scorers in 2011-12, now with the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots, notching 28 points in 24 games before a mid-season trade saw him moved to the North-West Conference contending Georgetown Raiders. Continuing his torrid scoring pace, Perruccio would lead the Raiders with 32 goals, the eighth best total in the OJHL, and finish second in scoring with 63 points to finish tied for 10th in the league scoring race as Georgetown captured the OJHL regular season title. His efforts during the season also earned Perruccio a spot on the OJHL West Division All-Star Team that competed at the inaugural Central Canada Cup All-Star Challenge that was held in Smiths Falls, Ontario. The veteran entered 2012-13 as one of the club's undisputed leaders both on-and-off the ice, and would once again be counted on offensively, finishing sixth on the Raiders in scoring with 45 points in 48 games played to finish his OJHL career with an impressive 91 goals and 215 points in 192 career regular season games. Perruccio finished the year strong and was, perhaps, his most impressive during the post-season run that saw him lead the club in scoring once again with six goals and eleven points in 11 playoff games to close out his career.
Congratulations to Nick on a tremendous OJHL career and best of luck as he takes his game to the next level!
