Milton Icehawks captain Justin DeVincentis (photo credit - Shawn Muir/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Westfield State University Owls beginning with the 2013-14 MASCAC season.

The Anacaster, Ontario native joined the OJHL as a 15-year old midget affiliate in 2007-08, playing five games for the Milton Icehawks, as well as his first junior post-season game that season.  The following year DeVincentis joined the club fulltime, providing a physical presence on their blueline as a 16-year old, while also finishing third in scoring among rearguards with 17 points in 47 games played.  After playing 10 games with the Upper Canada Patriots in 2009-10, DeVincentis returned in 2010-11 as a member of the Dixie Beehives, and despite only playing in 27 regular season games, he would lead the club's blueliners with three goals and finish second with 12 points.

The Beehives organization would suspend operations following the 2010-11 season and DeVincentis returned to his roots, rejoining the Milton Icehawks organization to finish out his six-year OJHL career as one of the club's veteran leaders.  Made an alternate captain entering 2011-12, the 6'1", 195 lbs. force would not disappoint in his return to Milton, not only leading the defensive corps in scoring with 32 points in 42 games played, but also finishing sixth among all their scorers and leading the entire OJHL with 206 penalty minutes.  His popularity among Icehawks fans was evidenced by him selected the club's Fan Favourite in the first-ever league-wide award voting.   This past season, DeVincentis captained the Icehawks to close out his junior career and would post similar statistics with 33 points in 47 regular season games, while also being named a member of the OJHL West Division All-Star Team that competed at the 2nd Annual Central Canada Cup All-Star Challenge that was hosted by the Wellington Dukes.  For the second consecutive year, DeVincentis would be selected as Milton's Fan Favourite in award voting.

Joining DeVincentis at Westfield State is former Icehawk Jake Suvak.  Suvak played parts of two seasons in Milton in 2011-12 and 2012-13, before finishing his junior career in the CCHL and NOJHL.

Congratulations to Justin on the commitment and fantastic junior career.  Best of luck in the NCAA!
