Georgetown Raiders captain Brendan Woods (photo credit - Jay Johnston/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Wilfrid Laurier University Golden Hawks beginning with the 2013-14 OUA season.

The London, Ontario native played two seasons with the Raiders from 2011-13 after beginning his junior career by playing parts of two seasons with the Junior 'B' London Nationals and Kitchener Dutchmen.  Starting his OJHL tenure as a 19-year old in 2011-12, Woods instantly became one of the offensive leaders on the squad, notching 20 goals and 45 points in 49 games played to help them capture the OJHL regular season title.  He would add another nine points in the club's run to the Conference Final before being upset in game seven overtime by Stouffville.  This past season Woods took on a leadership role and would ultimately find himself captaining the veteran club.  He would finish second on the team with 26 goals and third with 64 points, also tied for 14th best in the entire league, while being named runner-up for the Gongshow Gear South-West Conference Player-of-the-Month honours in October.  Woods' consistent play found him placed on the OJHL West Division All-Star Team that competed at the 2012 Central Canada Cup All-Star Challenge that took place in Wellington, Ontario and he would finish his junior career by leading the Raiders with eight assists in the post-season.

Congratulations to Brendan on the commitment and best of luck in his CIS career!
