After posting 11 points in nine games (8G, 3A) with the Red Wings, DiGiacinto accepted an offer to sign with the OHL's Windsor Spitfires on Tuesday.
“We're excited to add Cristiano to our lineup,” Spitfires general manager Warren Rychel said in a press release. "We like his intensity and ability around the net. He's a gritty player that has demonstrated the ability to finish at the Tier II level. We look forward to him doing the same with the Windsor Spitfires.”
At the time of his departure, DiGiacinto was second in team scoring, behind Corey Caruso (14 points). He says his time in Hamilton was instrumental to his development.
"Hamilton really helped me with the jump from AAA to junior. Being there for the start of the season really gave me the potential to grow as a player and continue to move to the next level," he said.
DiGiacinto will be in the lineup for Windsor 's Thursday night game, when the Spitfires host the Guelph Storm.
Congratulations to Christiano and best of luck at the next level!
