McCloy leads Aurora over Burlington, 5-2

Taylor McCloy was all over the ice for the Aurora Tigers, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Aurora's 5-2 win over the Burlington Cougars.

McCloy found the back of the net 1:16 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Aurora and again while short handed 8:09 into the third to make the score 4-2 Aurora.

 

Aurora also got points from Dylan Sikura, who also registered one goal and one assist and Calvin Higley, who also had one goal and one assist. Aurora also got a goal from Alex Gilmour as well. More assists for Aurora came via Michael Keenan, Kyle Liu, and Robert Angiolella, who each chipped in one and Michael Laidley and Curtis Warren, who contributed two a piece.

Burlington stifled the Tigers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

The Cougars were helped by Viktor Mueller, who racked up one goal. Mueller scored on the power play 3:29 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Aurora. Burlington had gotten the advantage when Aurora's Mihkel Poldma was sent off for high sticking. Carl Greco assisted on the tally. Adam Burnett also scored for Burlington. In addition, Burlington received assists from Steven Mueller and Tyler Lepore, who each chipped in one.

Andy Munroe rejected 28 shots on goal for the Tigers. Aurora incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Morton Josh recorded 22 saves for the Cougars. Burlington totaled 33 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-2 on the power play. Team's Kyle Kokotailo and Lepore were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
