PASL Deals In Las Vegas Legends
The Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) today announced it has granted a membership to the Las Vegas Legends for the 2012-13 season. A press conference was held at the Orleans Arena.
The new team brings the number of teams in the PASL to 15.
Making the announcement was PASL Commissioner Kevin Milliken along with Legends Managing Partner Meir Cohen. Cohen has successfully operated the Las Vegas Knights in the Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL-Premier) since 2006.
"Bringing professional arena soccer back to Las Vegas is something we looked at with great consideration," said Cohen. "We feel we have the right venue in the Orleans Arena and the right league in the PASL to make it viable."
“Residents of Las Vegas are craving more professional sports and we are sure they will really enjoy the action and competitiveness of indoor soccer,” added Cohen. “We have hired a legendary player as our head coach and are eager to field a strong team.”
Greg Howes, the three-time MISL MVP, and former Head Coach and leading scorer of the Tacoma Stars, will coach the Legends.
Season tickets can be reserved immediately for the Legends ten home games. Kids’ season tickets are priced at $80 while adult season tickets cost $144. There are additional options, including Premier for $240, a Season Family Four-Pack for $400 and Season VIP for $480. To reserve season tickets, call 702-888-0319 or visit www.lasvegaslegends.com.
The Legends also announced open tryouts are being held the week of August 20-25 at Las Vegas Indoor Soccer Complex, located at 1400 N. Rampart Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89128.
"Las Vegas has been a destination for league meetings, PASL-Premier tournaments, and Knights games for several years and now we are proud to have Las Vegas in the PASL," said Milliken.
The PASL is a professional league which began play on October 25, 2008. The league, heading into its fifth season, consists of US teams, the CMISL (Canada), and the LMFR (Mexico). The Dallas Sidekicks, Harisburg Heat, and Las Vegas Legends have been added for the 2012-13 season. The PASL-Premier is now in its 15th season as the nation's top amateur arena soccer league. The PASL and PASL-Premier are members of Federacion Internacional de Futbol Rapido (FIFRA).
