TOURNAMENTS

Sakatchewan Ball Hockey League and Canada West Ball Hockey will continuosly be in the process of trying to bring high quality ball hockey tournaments to our province.
At the conclusion of our inaugural year (2009/10), we hosted the Western Canadian Ball Hockey Championships, in which, Mens 'B' and 'C' Division teams from CBHA leagues all over Western and Central Canada competed in Saskatoon.

In July 2011, Youth Teams (U15, U17 & U19) from all over Canada, visited Saskatoon, as our province hosted the Junior Nationals for the fisrt time.

In June 2014, the Western Canadian Ball Hockey Champonships once again visited Saskatchewan as Regina played host to teams from B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

In August 2014, the top Mens and Womens teams from all over Canada came to our province for the first time ever as Saskatoon played host to the Canadian National Ball Hockey Championships.

Major tournaments in 2016 include:

Sask Ball Hockey (City) Playoffs: June 10-12, 2016 (Youth); June 13 -27, 2016 (Adult)
Sask Ball Hockey Provincials: July 8-10, 2016 (Saskatoon, SK)

National Mens B, C, D  and Womens B Championships: July 21-24, 2016 - Kelowna, BC
Jr National Ball Hockey Championships (Boys U15, U17, U9 and Girls U19): July 28-31, 2016 - Edmonton AB
National Mens & Womens A and Masters Championships: August 8-13, 2016 - Richmond, BC

World Junior Ball Hockey Championships: TBA
World Ball Hockey Championships: TBA

What are the Championships?

Provincial Championships
The focus is to create a provincial championship in different age groups. This has been a staple in the Mens Divisions since our inception and hopefully soon in the Bantam and/or Midget Divisions. For Youth Provincial Championships, smaller youth leagues will likely be able to select an all star team, while Saskatoon will be league champions and possibly the runner-up. In Adult leagues (Mens and Co-ed), it is always the Regular Season Champion and League Champion.

Western Canadian Championships
Every year the Canadian Ball Hockey Association hosts the Western Canadian Championships for Men's and Women's Teams for B, C and D Division teams across B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Canadian National Championships
Every year the Canadian Ball Hockey Association hosts both Canadian Ball Hockey Championships and the Canadian Junior National Ball Hockey Championships for the U15, U17 & U19 age categories. Our teams and players will have full access to these as we have continued to build our leagues.

World Championships
Bi-Annually, Team Canada plays at the World Junior Ball Hockey Championships held in different global locations. The scouting staff for Team Canada uses the Canadian Junior Nationals as an opportunity to scout players for these upcoming World Championships.

Saskatchewan has already had at least five players asked to represent Canada at the World Junior Ball Hockey Championships and two players asked to play at the World Ball Hockey Championships (Mens and Masters).
