What is Ball Hockey?
Ball Hockey IS NOT floor hockey, it is not played in some local gym with plastic sticks and puck; Ball Hockey is played 5 on 5 in hockey arena's (ice removed) with almost identical rules to that of ice hockey. Imagine a combination of ice hockey and road hockey organized to the extreme: Full sized ice hockey arena's, registered officials, online player statistics and much more!
Benefits of Ball Hockey
- Lower Registration Fees: Our league fees are about 2 to 3 times less than those associated with minor hockey and adult rec ice hockey
- Minimal Equipment (Gloves, Stick & Helmet): Minimal equipment provides two major benefits: Less costs associated due to minimal equipment and the convenience of coming to the rink and only having to put on your shoes, gloves and helmet, taking about 3-4 minutes to get ready.
- Skating Eliminated: The fact that the sport of ball hockey is played on feet, eliminates skating and bridges the gap of skill sets associated with the skating in ice hockey.
- Conditioning: A player can expect to burn between 600 and 900 calories in one game, which is a lot more fun than running on a treadmill for an hour :)
- A great way to meet new friends, that share a common interest through a sport
- Ice hockey Player Benefits: Improved Conditioning, stickhandling, hand-eye coordination and overall game sense.
