NEWS - Summit Hockey now offers scholarships to summer hockey camps

Starting summer of 2011, Summit Hockey has 100% scholarships available to its members that qualify.  These are funded 50% by Summit Hockey and 50% by the host camp (Planet Hockey or Rocky Mountain Hockey Schools).  Apply for these using the process below.

Equipment and Registration Scholarship Policy

It is the policy of Summit Hockey that, when available, scholarship funding will be available to families that demonstrate financial need, for registration and equipment.  For registration, scholarship applications can be submitted for a maximum of 50% of the fee.  Equipment scholarships cannot exceed $125.00. 

The responsibility for scholarship approval rests with the Financial Aid Director. Any financial information collected by Summit Hockey will be reviewed solely by this individual and kept in strict confidence.  Please be aware that second childdiscounts and new player discounts are deducted from scholarship availability.

Summit Hockey uses financial aid guidelines similar to The Summit Foundation. Questions about whether your family would qualify for financial aid can be directed to the Financial Aid Director, Sue Rodgers. rykyr@hotmail.com 

Procedure

  1. Applicant(s) must submit a completed Scholarship Application Form with the USA Hockey/CAHA registration form. Application must be submitted no later than July 21st each year.
  2. Applicant(s) must furnish the Financial Aid Director with a copy of the 1st page, and signature page, of the previous year.s tax return. (Note: if parents do not file jointly, or are divorced/separated, tax returns from both parents are required)
  3. Applicant(s) must submit a letter stating any extenuating circumstances or any other documents demonstrating financial need along with the above.

The Michael Henthorne Award and Scholarship

The Michael Henthorne Award and Scholarship

"Courage, Strength, Teamwork, Unity" 

 

The Michael Henthorne Memorial Fund was established in Summit County, Colorado in memory of Michael Patrick Henthorne, and is dedicated to promoting participation in youth hockey and continuing higher education by awarding an annual $1,000 college scholarship for an exceptional Summit High School Senior year hockey player who shows exceptional teamwork skills and work ethic.
