School Programs

The Tornado have three school programs: Read to Achieve, Honor Roll, and Teacher Appreciation. Through these various programs, it is our hope to have a positive impact on the Tornado of tomorrow. To learn more about the school programs, please read below:

Read to Achieve- Presesnted by NeighborsGo

This six-week program is designed to encourage elementary and middle school students to read for enjoyment. For every three books a student reads, he or she scores a hat trick. Once they score a hat trick, the students will receive a "Read to Achieve" voucher redeemable for a complimentary ticket to a Texas Tornado Game. Tornado hockey players are also available to come into the classroom to read to the students during the program.

The "Read to Achieve" program begins in September 2011 and run until the end of the season. The students will have the opportunity to redeem their ticket voucher during any regular season thru March 2011. To have your school or classroom participate in this program, please contact Shannon Smith 972.335.9800 or via email at shannon@tornadohockey.com

The individual that submits a letter or essay will also receive a complimentary ticket to Teacher Appreciation Night.  essays can be sent to shannon@tornadohockey.comTeacher Appreciation Night will be during the second half of the season
