Kings Finish the Toy Toss Game The Right Way!
In the first ever stuffed toy toss game in Komoka, the Kings finished the game with a big win. Facing the nearby GOJHL Western Conference leading London Nationals the Kings made an early stuffed toy toss with the game's first goal at 2:38 of the first period. And the Kings sealed the evening with a 2nd-OT period goal to win the game 3-2.
Facing the Conference leading London Nationals for the 5th time this season the Komoka Kings were looking to reverse the previous game results and end up with some needed points in the standings. With the support of Market Pet Store of Kilworth as sponsor and the students of Komoka's Parkview Public School in the stands the Kings quickly put it in to high gear against the Nationals, who had outscored the Kings 22 to 3 in the four previous games. With hands on their stuffed toys they brought to the rink, and before everyone could get comfortable in their seats the mighty Kings s-c-o-r-e-d at 2:38 in the game. The teddy bears, fluffy dogs, bunnies, giraffes, monkeys and whatnots flew over the netting in celebration - with quite a few of the younger and smaller children having to try 2, 3 or more times to get them over. Likely the most exiting time in the young age of the Komoka Wellness Centre. When all the stuffed animals were on the ice they were being collected by the Kings' players, with the Nationals looking on in amazement.
A most welcome and exciting event in the early days of the Komoka Kings Hockey Club in Komoka.
However, the real beneficiaries are the children in London's Regional Children's Hospital who will have a new fluffy friend while they are in for treatment or recovery.
