Komoka Kings win in 2OT defeating the first place London Nationals 4-3 Saturday night at the Komoka Wellness Centre.

A good pre-game meal and persuasive speech by the team's volunteer coordinator inspired the Kings against their nearby City rivals.  London scored late in the first period to take a 1-0 lead.  At 0:34 of the second Kurt Watson finished off a rush by the Kings to tie the game, his 13th of the season, assisted by Jacob Rochford and Blake McConnell-Barker.  The Nationals quickly got that one back at 1:47 to take a 2-1 lead.  Midway in the second period Wes Dobbin notched his 3rd of the season on the power play with assists by D'Arcy Panziera and Liam Whittaker to again tie the game at 2-2.  The Kings continued to press the Nationals and at 16:03 took a 3-2 lead on a tally by Dario Beljo, his 6th, assisted by Chase Strychaluk and Alex Cunningham.

The third period saw the National keep the pressure on the Kings with several key stops by Kings netminder Owen Say.  The National tied the game 3-3 with a goal at 16:36.

The Nationals continued to keep the puck in the Komoka end for much of the first OT period but steller puck stopping by Kings Say kept the score at 3-3.  National took a double minor penalty 1:42 of the 2OT and on the power play Chase Strychaluk scored his 6th of the season at 3:25 for a Komoka Kings 4-3 win, assisted by D'Arcy Panziera and Dario Beljo.

Kings fired 24 shots on the Nationals net while Say faced 30 shots in the Kings net.

Kings Chase Strychaluk was the game's 1st star, Liam Whittaker on his strong defense play was 2nd star, and Joe Capirchio continued his strong checking and puck handling to earn the 3rd star of the game.

This was the 2nd OT win by the Komoka Kings vs. the London Nationals this season and the 3rd overall in the two neighbour
