The Blue Jackets arrived into Quebec City on Thursday afternoon.  Everyone was very excited to get there and start the tournament.  The Blue Jackets lost their first exhibition game 3-2, but bounced back with a big win in their first tournament game at the Colisee.  The Jackets beat the San Diego Gulls 3-1 and advance to the next round in the winner's bracket.

CBJ started their Quebec Tournament against the San Diego Jr. Gulls. After falling behind 1-0 early in the first period the Jackets found a way to battle back. Early in the 2nd period Chase Sammons made a great centering pass to Rahul Choudhary who slammed it home to tie the game at 1-1. The \jackets would end up taking the lead just moments later as Dakotah \marshall hit Ron Ambrosia with a breakout pass who took off down the wing, shot five hole and scored. Things tightened up defensively at that point of the game as defensemen, Gunnar Geiger and Vinny Prospal came up with several big shot blocks. Deric Richison's 3rd period goal would be all the insurance the team needed as they held on to win 3-1. Goaltenders Grant Rodgers and Shayne DeWitt split time in the game both turning in solid efforts in the win.

The boys are enjoying billetting with their French-Canadian families and learning the culture. Also another pastime the players are enjoying is the pin trading with International hockey teams here at the Quebec Tournament.

Their next game is scheduled for Thursday, February 21st at 9:15am at the Pepsi Colisee.

In the meantime, the Jacket will enjoy the snow park, the billet dinner and a few more exhibition games.  GO JACKETS!!
