Huge game by Jones boosts South Jersey Cougars over Richmond Robins, 11-2

South Jersey Cougars' Eric Jones had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing five assists in his team's 11-2 win over Richmond Robins.

Jones scored at 3:36 into the second period to make the score 9-1 South Jersey Cougars and again while on the power play 8:23 into the second to make the score 10-2 South Jersey Cougars.

Richmond Robins' eight penalties came back to haunt it, as Richmond Robins let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

South Jersey Cougars put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Richmond Robins to score on any of its three power plays. South Jersey Cougars bested its season scoring average. South Jersey Cougars averages 4.7 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

South Jersey Cougars also got points from Vince Massimini, who also racked up one goal and three assists, Andrew Amand, who also had two goals and one assist, Carl Flinn, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Tom Connor, who also tallied three goals and one assist. Matt Grossi also scored for South Jersey Cougars. More assists for South Jersey Cougars came via Brett Balco and Joey Coffin, who each chipped in one.

Richmond Robins could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game.

Richmond Robins was led by Pierce Johnson, who tallied one goal and one assist. Johnson scored 2:35 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Richmond Robins. Joanthan Vu picked up the assist. Richmond Robins also got a goal from Andrew Kent as well.

Wes Devoy rejected 21 shots on goal for South Jersey Cougars. South Jersey Cougars incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. John Beltrane recorded 16 saves for Richmond Robins.
