The Dundas Real McCoys hope that a change of venue will bring them a change in their fortunes as they take on the Stoney Creek Generals Tuesday night (March 6th) in the Caledonia Arena.
Dundas trails their best of seven John Ross Robertson Cup semifinal series 3-0 and need to right their ship Tuesday night before it sinks. Don Robertson, President and General Manager of the McCoys, ever the optimist believes it can be done.
“I’d like to say I’m sorry to everybody for this inconvenience, but we are heading south to Caledonia for game four of the series on Tuesday,” said Robertson.
“The good news, however, is that we will have our best lineup of the series on the ice that night. The sad news is that we didn’t have our best for the first three games. In spite of that, Saturday night in Stoney Creek, we deserved a better fate than we got.”
“I also want to take a moment and thank everyone for their help throughout the season, and in playoffs,” Robertson added.
Game four of the series is scheduled for Tuesday night in the Haldimand County Caledonia Centre at 7:30 p.m. The arena is situated at 72, 158 Haddington Street in Caledonia.
On Saturday night the Generals won 6-4 and went ahead 3-0 in the series as Matt Dzieduszycki scored twice. Dundas held a 2-0 first period lead before the Generals rallied to tie the score. From that point on, the clubs traded goals until Stoney Creek earned the victory. Dundas replied with single goals by Scott Roy, Brad Bonello and Chris McGuffin.
Last Friday, 11 players took part in the scoring for Stoney Creek as they won 4-0 in game two in the Harry Howell Arena. Matt Smith, Nikola Bibic, Nathan Pageau, and Jarrett Konkle scored once each for the Generals.
In the series opener at Stoney Creek last Thursday, the Generals posted a 6-3 victory as Chris Hulit led the way with two goals and two assists. Shawn Snider, Bonello and Phil Brewer replied for the McCoys.
