Konkle’s Hat Trick Seals a Win For Stoney Creek
Dundas - Stoney Creek finished off the regular season with a 6-4 victory over the home team Dundas Real McCoys. Jarrett Konkle had a banner day with four points including a hat trick. The Toronto native finished second in team scoring this year with 20 goals and 13 assists for 33 points in 22 games.
Konkle opened the scoring at 6:56 from Cam Fergus and Justin Dacosta. Dundas’ Dan Brewer answered a few minutes later at 10:26 from Shawn Snider and Guy Polillo. It was Brewer’s second goal of the season.
The win marks the 18th win of the season for the first place Generals (18-5-1) who will start the first round of playoffs on Tuesday February 19th in a best-of-seven semifinal between Generals and Real McCoys. Game One opens in the Gateway Ice Centre in Stoney Creek at 7:15 p.m. Game two of the series will be played at 7:30 p.m. on Friday (February 22nd) in the Howell Arena. The third game is slated for the Gateway Centre on Saturday night at 7:15 p.m.
Meanwhile Margaret's Place Hospice at St. Joseph's Villa was the big winner today as more than 300 people attended the Dundas Real McCoys Margaret’s Place fundraising event in the Harry Howell Arena.
