Innisfail Rebounds To Eliminate Stoney Creek From Allan Cup
The defending champions are going home after a 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Innisfail Eagles. Stoney Creek previously beat the Eagles in the Round Robin but the Eagles' game plan was much different in the Semi-Final...score often.
Shawn Bates scored three points (1 goal and 2 assists) in the win for the Eagles. The Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta native led his Eagles team in scoring during the Allan Cup and recently came back from a stint with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits of the ECHL. His power play goal in the second period evened the score but his assist on the power play in the third period to teammate and second-leading scorer Justin Cox was the game winner.
Innisfail now moves on to the Final against either Rosetown or Lacombe.
