Tigers Shutout McCoys

Stoney Creek Tigers went into the J. L. Grightmire Arena and picked up their fifth consecutive Allan Cup Hockey win against the Dundas Real McCoys dating back to March 26th of this year. Daniel Svedin stopped all 36 shots he faced to backstop his Tigers to a 5-0 win.
Mark Taylor and Chris Knighton each scored in the opening period to give Stoney Creek a 2-0 lead. Both would also pick up an assist on each other’s tally.
The Tigers continued to add to their total in the third when Dave Russell scored on the power play and Cordell James picked up a goal 30 seconds before the middle mark of the period. Steven Goeree rounded out the scoring with a penalty shot goal with 2:02 remaining in the game.
Mike Mole would take the loss for Dundas, stopping 33 of 38 shots.
Stoney Creek is back in action on Saturday at home against the Brampton Buccaneers starting at 6:30pm. The Real McCoys will have a week to draw up a new plan as they host the Wentworth Gyphins on Friday December 1.
