Arnprior Packers vanquishes Almonte Thunder in shootout, 3-2 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Arnprior Packers defeated Almonte Thunder in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured five attempts between both teams.

John McLean had a great game for Arnprior Packers, netting two goals. McLean's tallies came at 5:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Arnprior Packers and 8:08 into the first to make the score 2-0 Arnprior Packers.

Other players who recorded assists for Arnprior Packers were Jake Gaudet and Damian Armstrong, who contributed two a piece.

Arnprior Packers was unable to stop Almonte Thunder from sending pucks towards the net, and Almonte Thunder eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

Almonte Thunder was helped by Jordan Bosely, who racked up one goal. Bosely scored 19:47 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Cameron Cornwall provided the assist. Brendan Rousselle also scored for Almonte Thunder. More assists for Almonte Thunder came via Luke Martin and Brock Saunders, who each chipped in one.

Erik Miksik rejected 40 shots on goal for Arnprior Packers. Arnprior Packers totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with nine minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. Arnprior Packers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Corey Chaplin was ejected from the game. Alex Daley made 23 saves for Almonte Thunder on 25 shots. Almonte Thunder totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. For Almonte Thunder, Rousselle was ejected from the game.
