The Baltimore Redbirds offense too much for the Vienna River Dogs in 9-2 rout

The Baltimore Redbirds (25-9) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Vienna River Dogs (14-20), recording a 9-2 victory on Sunday at Calvert Hall HS.

Nine runs in the first three innings allowed the Baltimore Redbirds to put the game away early.

, a triple by Nicholas Fortes, a single by Utah Jones, a two-run single by DJ Miller, and a double by Jake Mueller in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Baltimore Redbirds.

Mueller racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Baltimore Redbirds.

Culver Hughes racked up six strikeouts in the the Baltimore Redbirds win. The Baltimore Redbirds' pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only four hits.

Andrew Zitel racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Vienna River Dogs. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the second and eighth innings.

Cole Davis (0-5) took the loss for the Vienna River Dogs. He lasted just two innings, walked four, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
