The Toronto Bulldogs glide to a 9-3 victory over the Connecticut Jr. Rangers
In what was a spectacular first period, the Toronto Bulldogs capitalize on a face-off play 3:30 into the hockey game. Defenseman Tyker Miocevich buried a wrist shot after a Michael Misa face-off win to put the Bulldogs up 1-0.
Three minutes later, Michael Misa would get a goal of his own off another play off the draw. Caden Taylor and Tyker Miocevich earned the helpers on the Bulldogs’ second goal.
However, Toronto was not finished yet. Just over a minute later, Owen Griffin skated out from behind the net to tuck in his first of the tournament, putting the Bulldogs up 3-0.
The Jr. Rangers elected to take their timeout and it paid immediate dividends. Mark Rosa buried a big shorthanded goal to cut the deficit to two, making it a 3-1 game going into the second.
The second period was not to be outdone. Connecticut marginalized the lead to one after a beautiful rebound goal by Alexander Donovan just fifteen seconds into the period. Colin Foley and Cooper Dennis received the assists on the pivotal goal.
Both goaltenders were making some monstrous saves for their respective clubs. However, with 7:58 to go, Connecticut was assessed a too many men penalty with six skaters on the ice. The Bulldogs pounced, scoring just thirty seconds with the man advantage. Jaden Connors ripped home a beautiful blocker-side shot to put the Bulldogs up 4-2.
Ryan Roobroeck scored shortly after with a tremendous bar-down shot that snuck just over the goalie’s blocker. Anthony Alessi comes into the game to replace Fitchthorn.
With 1:23 to go in the second frame, Alexander Donovan capitalizes on a loose-puck in the slot to cut the Bulldogs lead to two. Going into the third, Toronto was up 5-3.
Headlined by Michael Misa, Wyatt Jinman and Ryan Roobroeck, the third period saw the Bulldogs score four times. Michael Misa’s spectacular skating was on full display as he generated an assist in the final frame. Jinman found the back of the net twice and Roobroeck added a goal and an assist to help the Bulldogs come out to a dominant 9-3 victory. Caden Taylor was the first Bulldog to score in the frame.
