The Brockville Tikis earned their first shutout of the year on way to beating the Renfrew Timberwolves 4-0 on Wednesday at the Memorial Centre.

The Tikis slowly built up their lead as the game went on and kicked things off when Antonino Licandro found the back of the net eight minutes into the game.

Chris Gose extended the lead less than two minutes into the middle frame.

In the third period, Brockville put the game to bed with Mike Hall scoring an unassisted power play goal eight minutes in, followed by Trevor Finch rounding out the scoring with a shorthanded empty netter.

Kyle Herbison recorded the shutout by making 24 saves.

The win added to Brockville’s fairly strong season at home and they now have a 7-5-0-0 record at the Memorial Centre compared to a 4-10-0-0 record on the road.

Renfrew, who sits in last place in the CCHL2, has now lost their last 11 games and this was the third time they’ve been held off the scoreboard over their cold spell.

The Tikis will host the Arnprior Packers next Wednesday at the Memorial Centre.
