The Brockville Tikis were unable to find the back of the net in their final game at the Memorial Centre of the 2016-17 season after losing 3-0 to the Ottawa West Golden Knights on Wednesday.

The Tikis put up a fairly strong effort considering they were up against the best team in the Martin Division. Brockville currently has the fourth worst winning percentage in the CCHL2.

The Tikis looked like they might be in for a long night when the Golden Knights scored six minutes into the game, but from there it took Ottawa 33:40 before their next goal.

However, when the Golden Knights did score their next goal they potted two in 30 seconds.

Brockville at times had trouble mustering much offence, getting just five and six shots on net in the first and third periods, respectively. The Golden Knights earned at least 11 shots in each frame and finished the game firing 41 pucks on net, compared to Brockville with 22.

The Tikis finish the season with 10 wins at the Memorial Centre, which is considerably better than last year when they had just three wins at the arena.

Brockville will close out their season Thursday and will hit the road to take on the Casselman Vikings.
