Under the general supervision of the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach will provide support and assist with all aspects of the Caledon Admirals Jr. A Hockey program. The Assistant Coach will work to provide optimal and inclusive player and team development for the program. All interested coaches will be considered. Candidates do not necessarily need to meet all requirements mentioned, but must have the interest, energy and drive to learn on the job.

• Work with the Head Coach to provide a positive, inclusive and competitive experience for all athletes
• Create, grow and maintain an atmosphere of learning and development in all areas.
• Serve as a role model for the athletes by exhibiting ethical and professional conduct at all times
• Work with the head coach to foster the personal development and competitive spirit of the athletes while supporting their mental and physical well being
• Works with the Head Coach to supervise the team at all competitions and practices
• Provides recommendations to the head coach on team line up's, game strategy, etc
• Video Editing, analysis and breakdown of games and skills
• Assist in running Daily/Weekly Video Sessions and Meetings
• Assist in implementing and monitoring athlete strength and conditioning program
• Availability to work nights and weekends
• Availability to attend practice from 4pm or later
• Ability to teach various skills and techniques in on and off ice situations.
• Assist in developing, monitoring and implementing advanced analytical program
• Develop scouting reports for opponents as assigned
• Available to attend games a minimum of two hours prior to puck drop

Qualifications

• Professional/College/Junior (Men’s or Women’s) playing experience preferred but not required.
• Experience coaching men’s or women’s hockey
• Applicable coaching certifications (or willing to complete) and ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector check
• Ability to manage time and personnel effectively
• Strong communication skills including digital business/cloud software
• Knowledge in theory and concepts including systems, special teams and skill development
• Knowledge/interest in current trends in hockey analytical tracking, synthesis and implementation

This position is part time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
