Welcome to the world's premier Atom and Peewee hockey tournament! Tournament games are now officially underway, and all but a select few of the 270 teams registered for this year's tournament will be in action today. There are games being played all across the city, at several different facilities. Here are some of the highlights to expect today, and throughout the week:

Ceremonial puck drop: This will take place at the Bell Sensplex, Mattamy Homes pad at 12:15pm today.  It will be a Major Atom AAA game between the Ottawa Valley Silver Seven and the Westchester Express. Guests include Denis Dumais (ODMHA President), Gary Cameron (VP, Bell), and Cyril Leeder (President Ottawa Senators Hockey Club/Canadian Tire Centre, and Chair of the Bell Capital Cup).

Senators vs. Sabres: Many Bell Capital Cup teams will be in attendance tonight at the Senators vs. Sabres game at 7:30PM at the Canadian Tire Centre. Tickets to this game were sold out long ago, and you can expect the stands to be packed with enthusiasm as Bell Capital Cup participants of all ages will be there to take in some live NHL action.

Open Practice: During the Bell Capital Cup, minor hockey teams are invited to attend an Ottawa Senators open practice as part of the Sens Gameday Experience presented by Esso on Monday, December 29th at Canadian Tire Centre. This is your chance to watch and learn what goes into a professional gameday skate as the Sens prepare to take on the Buffalo Sabres later that night. Doors open at 10:00am with the Ottawa Senators gameday skate starting at approximately 10:15am. General admission to this event is free with non-perishable food donations being accepted onsite for the Ottawa Foodbank.

Championship Games: Depending on your age and division, championship games will begin as early as Dec. 31st and will wrap up on Jan. 2nd. All championship games are played on NHL ice at the Canadian Tire Centre.
