The Brockton Rox drop the Nashua Silver Knights 5-4 behind Edwards' early sacrifice fly

The Brockton Rox (22-23)'s four first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home a 5-4 win over the Nashua Silver Knights (28-17) on Wednesday at Campanelli Stadium.

The Brockton Rox scored in the first on a sacrifice fly by Ishmael Edwards, , a fielder's choice, and a wild pitch.

Ben Porter reached base three times in the game for the Brockton Rox.

David Moyer pitched lights out for the Brockton Rox. Moyer held the Nashua Silver Knights hitless over 3 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Cory Poplawski improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Brockton Rox. He allowed three runs over five innings. Poplawski struck out two, walked none and gave up nine hits.

Mike Geannelis (4-3) took the loss for the Nashua Silver Knights. He lasted just four innings, walked 10, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
