The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs get on top of the Seacoast Mavericks early but can't hang on in 2-1 loss

The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (18-32) built an early edge on Tuesday, but the Seacoast Mavericks (34-15) roared back to steal a 2-1 victory at Doyle Field.

The Seacoast Mavericks took the lead in the fifth inning on a solo home run by Jeremiah Adams.

Adams put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Seacoast Mavericks. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Ryan Guerra recorded his third win of the year for the Seacoast Mavericks. He allowed one run over five innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered five hits.

Anthony Assante was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
