PACK COME FROM BEHIND TO TAKE FIRST OF SERIES WITH PBA
WolfPack finish PBA in the bottom of the 7th

Kamloops, BC- The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack baseball team defeated the former Canadian College Baseball Conference champions, Prairie Baseball Academy 5-4. This game was the first of the weekend home stand consisting of 4 contests between the two squads.
The WolfPack win increases the spread between them and PBA, the current runners up. The ‘Pack’s record is now 8-1 and the Dawgs fall to 5-3 on the season.
In the fourth inning, the ‘Pack grabbed a 2-0 lead. PBA responded with two runs of their own tying the game in the fifth. In the sixth inning each team traded a pair of runs, keeping the game tied going into the last inning. After a scoreless top of the seventh, TRU threatened with back-to-back singles by Tony Tabor (White Rock, BC) and Erik Herbranson (Maple Ridge, BC). Evan Douglas’ (White Rock, BC) sacrifice bunt was thrown away by the PBA third baseman to score Tabor from second and sealed the WolfPack win.
Offensively, Luc Simpson (Aldergrove, BC) went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 runs scored. Erik Herbranson went 2 for 4. Connor Rogers (Delta, BC) went 1 for 2 with a RBI. Jay Huggins (Victoria, BC) went 1 for 3, adding a double and RBI to round out the offensive.
Alex Reid (Kamloops, BC) threw a complete game. Over the 7 innings he gave up 7 hits and 4 runs. Reid walked 2 and struck out 6. This game was Reid’s third straight win of the season, making him the league leader in this category.
The two teams will play again Saturday (Apr 4) at 2pm. Then on Sunday (Apr 5) they will compete at 10am and 1pm. All games will be played at Norbrock Stadium.
