Week 3 preview Week 2 saw some shake up in the standings that will have teams eyeing big series wins this week like this week's Matchup of the Week in the CCBC version of the battle of Alberta. Calgary (6-2) vs Edmonton (2-6) Calgary is coming in hot, fresh off a sweep of VIU where they won all four close games. Edmonton is coming off a split against TRU where they salvaged the series split, winning Sunday. In last year's edition of the battle of Alberta, Calgary was able to take four of six. Prairie Baseball Academy (7-1) vs Victoria Collegiate (5-3) Both teams enter week 3 coming off successful weekends in week 2. PBA was able to take 3 of 4 from the defending champs and Victoria is coming off a sweep of UFV. Both will be backed by strong pitching along with opportunistic offense to try and swing the series their way. Okanagan College (4-4) vs University of Fraser Valley (4-4) In this home and home series both teams will try and get back on track. Week 1 was successful for both teams with OC going 3-1 and UFV going 4-0, both teams sputtered in week 2. OC winning only one and UFV getting swept. This is a huge series for both teams to steady themselves as the season progresses this spring. Fridays games have been postponed until April 22. Vancouver Island University (0-8) vs Thompson Rivers University (4-4) TRU will take the trip to the island and try to get over the hump for a series win after splitting the previous 2 series. For VIU, they want to get going and get their first win of the season, unfortunately being swept the first 2 weeks.
