CCHL FRIDAY NIGHT RECAP

CARLETON PLACE 4 BROCKVILLE 1

Alex Storjohann led the CP charge with 2 goals and 1 assist, Connor Merkley and Alex Friesen each chipped in with one apiece while goaltender Connor Hughes made 18 saves as the Canadians defeated the Brockville Braves 4-1 to improve to 5-2-0 on the season.

 

NEPEAN 4 HAWKESBURY 0

Cole Chapman made 30 saves for his first career CCHL shutout, while Kari Belec, Will Cullen, Geoff Dempster, and Bobby Kinsey scored the goals helping Nepean to a 4-0 victory over the Hawkesbury Hawks.  With the victory, Nepean takes over first place in the CCHL Yzerman Division with a 3-2-0-0 record. 

 

SMITHS FALLS 3 OTTAWA 2

Cole Busschaert, Brian Bygrave, and Brett Harvey had the goals, Brennan Kitchen made 29 saves as the Smiths Falls Bears picked up a hard fought two points over the Ottawa Jr Senators.  Smiths Falls sits fourth place in an extremely tight CCHL Robinson Division with a 4-1-0-1 record. 

 

KEMPTVILLE 3 CORNWALL 2 SO

The battle of the two top seeded teams in the Robinson Division was a close one from start to finish which saw Kemptville squeek out a shootout victory over Cornwall.  Quinn Wichers and Victor Tracy had the goals for the 73's while JD Pogue and Grant Cooper replied for the Colts.  In the shootout it was 73's captain Alex Row with the lone goal.  Nicholas Hodgins made 30 saves in the victory while Liam Lascelle stopped 42 of 44 in the tough loss.

 

PEMBROKE 3 GLOUCESTER 1

Alex Gilmour, Conner Jean, and Jared Steege each had tallies, while Jake Smith made 17 saves as the Pembroke Lumber Kings topped the Gloucester Rangers 3-1.  The victory moved Pembroke to 2-3-0-0, good enough for third in the CCHL Yzerman Division while Gloucester dropped to 0-4-0-2.
