PLK Split Showcase Showdown
The Pembroke Lumber Kings started the Labour Day Showcase event at the Sensplex slowly but pulled out a win during the final day, prevailing 2-1 over their arch-rival Brockville Braves. The Kings dropped a 7-2 decision to Cornwall to open the season Saturday and a 2-1 squeaker to the Hawksbury Hawks on Sunday before registering their first win of the year on Labour Day Monday. Appropriately, the Club displayed a solid work ethic on the way to victory during the Labour Day weekend action and Captain Alex Gilmour has led his squad scoring at a goal-a-game clip thus far in the young season.
