COBOURG -- Junior A hockey is back this September.

The Cobourg Cougars have released their schedule for the 2010-2011 season, their 46th in junior hockey and their final one at the Cobourg Memorial Arena (the team will move to the new Cobourg Community Centre for 2011-12).

Cobourg's team will kick off the new season on the road against the Kingston Voyageurs on Thursday, Sept. 9. They'll play another game away from home on Sunday, Sept. 12 against Upper Canada before turning on the lights at the Memorial Arena for their home opener on Monday, Sept. 13 against the Trenton Golden Hawks. As is traditional, the Cougars will play the majority of their home games on Monday nights at 7 p.m. The three exceptions are Saturday night games (Sept. 18, Oct. 30 and Nov. 13) which begin at 8 p.m.

In the newly reformed Ontario Junior Hockey League, the Cougars will be placed in the East Division of the South-East Conference alongside Kingston, Wellington, Trenton, Lindsay, Peterborough, Whitby and Pickering. They will play the teams from the South Division (St. Mike's, Toronto's Junior Canadiens, North York Rangers, Streetsville Derbys and Dixie Beehives) twice each.

In all, the Cougars will play fifty regular season games. They will wrap up their home schedule on Monday, Feb. 7 against Trenton, and the regular season ends on the road in Wellington on Friday, Feb. 11.

Single game promotions and theme nights will continue this season. Season tickets are now available. For more information on tickets visit www.cobourgcougars.com.
