The Cobourg Cougars are pleased to announce that goaltender Dershahn Stewart has committed to Adrian College for the 2020 season, and will be suiting up with the Bulldogs this fall. Adrian College is located in Adrian, Michigan and is a D3 Men's Hockey Team, the team went 21-3-5 in 2019-20 and was in the playoffs when they were canceled.

Stewart joined the Cougars in 2018, after two strong seasons with the LaSalle Vipers of the GOJHL, and posted a .933 save percentage while going 22-10-0-3 in 33 games as an OJHL-rookie. Dershahn was named the Goaltender of the Month for December that season as he helped lead the Cougars to an East Division title. Stewart followed-up his rookie season this year starting 30 games for the Cougars and provided the team with a calm and veteran presence in goal.

"We are very excited for Dershahn to be moving onto a program like Adrian College," said Adam Yahn, General Manager of the Cobourg Cougars. "When he entered our program two years ago, we knew that we were getting one of the best goalies out of the GOJHL and he didn't disappoint. His saves brought our fans to their feet and made him an instant favourite. His on-ice performance was only surpassed by his character and personality."

The Cougars would like to congratulate Dershahn and wish him well as he embarks on this new chapter in his life. Congrats, Dershahn.
