2013 Ontario Summer Showcase
Forty OJHL players have been invited to attend the 2013 Ontario Summer Select Showcase, in conjunction with the CCHL and NOJHL, and hosted by the CCHL's Cornwall Colts from August 10-11, 2013.
The defending OJHL champion St. Michael's Buzzers and the North York Rangers lead the way with five invitees each, followed closely behind by the Stouffville Spirit, Wellington Dukes and Whitby Fury, who will each have four players attending.
Today, the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL), in conjunction with the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) and Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL), announced the location and participating players for the Ontario Summer Select Showcase (OSSS). The OSSS will be held in Cornwall, Ontario at the Benson Centre from August 10-11, 2013.
The OSSS is a two-day event that brings the top 19-and-Under Junior ‘A’ players from CCHL, NOJHL and OJHL to a single venue. The partnership of the three leagues and their 42 combined teams represents a continued effort to provide players with the best experience possible by maximizing exposure to higher levels and creating new opportunities for showcasing their skills.
The 80 players will arrive on Saturday (Aug. 10) for practice, followed by a pair of games that evening. Day two (Aug. 11) will see four additional games take place with two in the morning and two in the afternoon.
Numerous scouts from the NHL, NCAA and CHL are expected to be in attendance to evaluate and identify players for the upcoming 2013-14 season.
The general public can attend the OSSS games for a nominal admission. Adults are $10/person for two games; seniors/students are $5/person for two games and children 12-and-under are admitted free.
