The Wellington Dukes scored three times in the third period to turn a 1-0 lead heading into the final frame into a 4-1 victory over the Kingston Voyageurs on Friday night in Wellington

After Brayden Stortz, who had four points in the game, snapped a scoreless tie 4:55 into the second period, he made it a 2-0 game just 1:01 into the third period.

The Vees came back on a power-play goal from Rob Clerc to narrow the gap to 2-1, but Stortz helped set up Brody Morris for an insurance goal at 4:03. Justin Bean, with a short-handed empty-net goal, also assisted by Stortz, completed the scoring with 2:42 left in the third.

The Voyageurs fell to 3-3-1-2 with the loss, despite outshooting the Dukes 47-27 in the game, including 18-6 in a scoreless first period. Goaltender Connor Ryckman made 46 saves as the Dukes won for the eighth time in nine starts.

Kingston hosts the Newmarket Hurricanes on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Invista Centre.
