Perfect Storm

The Kingston Voyageurs won for the first time this Ontario Junior Hockey League on home ice as they doubled the Newmarket Hurricanes 8-4 on Sunday at the Invista Centre.

In their previous four home games, the Vees had lost once, tied once and lost in overtime twice.

Danny Bosio and Josh Leblanc led the way offensively for the Vees, with Bosio netting two goals and adding two assists and Leblanc chipping in with four assists. Brandon Nadeau scored twice, and single goals were scored by Connor Cobbold, Rob Clerc, Adam Kim and William Lavezzorio.

The goal by Lavezzorio was the 20-year-old Forest Lake, Ill., forward's first with the Vees.

Replying for the Hurricanes, who found themselves trailing 3-0 after the first period and 5-1 after two, were Marco Bozzo, Brad Johnson, Quinn Yule and Christian Cella.

The Vees (4-3-1-2), who host the Aurora Tigers at 7 p.m. Thursday night at the Invista Centre, outshot Newmarket 38-25 in the game
