Vees Score A Big Win Off The Ice

On ice the ice last Thursday (October 25), the Kingston Voyageurs battled back on 3 different occasions to force overtime in a see-saw battle with the Mississauga Chargers. However, in the end it was the Chargers who would get the upper hand sneaking away with a 4-3 double overtime win inside the Invista Centre. Off the ice, though, the Vees scored a bigger win by helping out Breast Cancer Action Kingston with  #PinkInTheRink night to wrap up Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Members of Breast Cancer Action Kingston were on hand for the game, while the players donned pink laces and tape on their sticks to show support for those who are going through the tough battle, and for those who have been through it.  A portion of the night's ticket sales were donated to Breast Cancer Action Kingston, with the grand total coming to $400. In addition to the ticket sales, Breast Cancer Action Kingston also had a booth set-up, with information on their organization and donation buckets with different levels of donations receiving different tokens of appreciation.

The Voyageurs would like to thank Breast Cancer Action Kingston for setting up in the lobby and attending, as well as everyone who came out to the Invista Centre and made #PinkInTheRink night a big success.  If you're looking for more information on Breast Cancer Action Kingston, you can find it on their website by clicking here.
