Ricards Landmanis of Ventspils, Latvia commits to Collingwood Blues
The Collingwood Blues are pleased to announce defenceman Ricards Landmanis has signed in Collingwood. Landmanis,18, comes off his most recent season suiting up for The Hill Academy U18 Prep.
General Manager Mike Tarantino had this to say on Landmanis at the time of the commitment “Ricky is a presence on the back end. For a player who is 6'7, he has good feet, soft hands and the ability to make plays. He was the top Defenceman at the Hill Academy.”
Ricards will turn 19 in October and is expected to be a big part of the future in Collingwood. He comes to Collingwood after a successful year at The Hill Academy U18 Prep. He is expected to pursue an NCAA career following his time in the OJHL.
Last season he put up 5 goals and 30 assists for 35 points in 30 games with 16 penalty minutes with Hill Academy. Landmanis weighs in at 161 lbs measuring 6 foot 7 inches tall.
