Twins beat Rebels 4-1 to open the 2021 season
Twins starting pitcher Megumi Fukuda gave up a leadoff HR, then settled down and no hit Newton for six innings (12K and 5 BB). Derby scored two unearned runs in the second to go ahead. They added another unearned run in the fifth. The Twins added an insurance run in the seventh to end the scoring.
Jack Torosian, Nicholas Thibodeau, and Joe Wolf have the only hits for Derby. Karsen Shephard pitched a scoreless seventh. Cy Murphy allowed one hit in the eighth, but got into trouble in the ninth allowing a single and a walk before Zack Trevio came in to finish the game. He struck out two, then hit a batter to load the bases. The next batter grounded out to second to end the game.
