Twins lost regular season finale 13-4 to Brigade
Derby Twins had trouble keeping up with Junction City Brigade in a 13-4 loss on Sunday at 801 E Market St.
Junction City Brigade got on the board in the first inning after Chad Pantuso homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Junction City Brigade added one run in the third. Peyton Firgens grounded into a fielder's choice, making the score 3-0.
Junction City Brigade scored six runs on five hits in the top of the fourth inning. Logan Myers singled, scoring one run, Chad Pantuso doubled, scoring two runs, Gabe Yonto singled, scoring one run, and Kyler Horsman homered to center field, scoring two runs.
Derby Twins made the score 13-4 in the bottom of the ninth inning when Noah Allison hit a solo home run to left field, and Kole Dudding homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Joey Ruller earned the win for Junction City Brigade. The starting pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out three and walking three. Kai Fitak took the loss for Derby Twins. The right-handed pitcher went one inning, giving up two runs on three hits, striking out none and walking none.
Derby Twins collected nine hits in the game. Kole Dudding, the number eight hitter for Derby Twins, led the way with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Kade Sheldon and Noah Allison each collected two hits for Derby Twins.
Junction City Brigade tallied 13 hits in the game. Chad Pantuso went 4-for-6 at the plate and led the team with six runs batted in. Gus Keller collected two hits for Junction City Brigade in five at bats. Junction City Brigade stole six bases in the game. Junction City Brigade turned two double plays in the game.
Both teams qualified for the NBC World Series.
