Twins fall to Foresters 11-1

Derby Twins had trouble keeping up with Santa Barbara Foresters in an 11-1 loss on Friday.

 

Santa Barbara Foresters jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Cole Chamberlain grounded out, scoring one run, and Mic Paul doubled, scoring two runs.

 

Santa Barbara Foresters scored five runs on four hits in the top of the seventh inning. Zane Becker singled, scoring two runs, Xavier Esquer singled, scoring one run, and Easton Moomau singled, scoring two runs.

 

Lucas Weaver began the game for Derby Twins. The right-handed pitcher gave up seven hits and four runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking one. Zack James started on the bump for Santa Barbara Foresters. The right-handed pitcher allowed five hits and one run over six and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking two.

 

Cade Sutherland, Noah Allison, Damian Garcia, Connor Rabe, and Teigan Munce each collected one hit for Derby Twins. Kole Dudding led Derby Twins with one run batted in. 

 

Santa Barbara Foresters collected 12 hits in the game. Easton Moomau went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Santa Barbara Foresters in hits. Terrence Kiel II and Xavier Esquer each collected multiple hits for Santa Barbara Foresters. Caden Miller and Xavier Esquer each stole multiple bases for Santa Barbara Foresters. Santa Barbara Foresters ran wild on the base paths, collecting six stolen bases for the game. Santa Barbara Foresters turned one double play in the game. Santa Barbara Foresters were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Sawyer Farr had the most chances in the field with six.

 

Next up for Derby Twins is a game at Lonestar Collegiate on Sunday.
